How to Convert Flash FLV to Avid DNxHD for Avid Media Composer on Mac ?

Flash Video FLV files usually contain material encoded with codecs following the Sorenson Spark or VP6 video compression formats.
Avid DNxHD, which stands for “Digital Nonlinear Extensible High Definition”, is a lossy high-definition video post-production codec engineered for multi-generation compositing with reduced storage and bandwidth requirements. It is an implementation of SMPTE VC-3 standard. DNxHD codec was developed by Avid Technology, Inc. It is comparable with Apple’s ProRes 422 which uses similar bit rates and has the same purpose.
